Rule Creation
Rule creation is a concept that I think should be done collaboratively. However, I feel as if the teacher needs to help prompt the students in order for there to be appropriate rules and expectations in the classroom. For example, I think that the class could create rules together as the teacher records them on chart paper. When the rules are done being created and recorded, the class can then sign the bottom of the chart paper as if it is a contract. This shows the students that they are agreeing to rules and will indeed follow them. The teacher can then use this a resource in the future when a rule or expectation is broken. This will be a practice that will be implemented in my classroom, and I have implemented this at work with the children I work with.
