Working with Families
Working with families is a huge part of creating a classroom community. It is important for teachers to work with the families of their students so that the student can have all around support. Although the student has support at school, it is important for them to have it at home as well and working with the families helps ensure that. Not only does working with the families help build support, but it can also help the teacher understand the student better. The teacher can learn things about the student and can learn about them developmentally. I have had experience with working with families during my six week clinical. One example is, Step into Learning that took place of the Meet the Teacher Night. During this I had the chance to connect with the parents and learn a little about them and the students.
